US person, for taxation purposes, refers to an individual who is a citizen or resident of the United States, including green card holders (lawful permanent residents) and individuals who meet the Substantial Presence Test.

US persons are subject to US tax laws on their worldwide income, regardless of where they reside.

This term also includes certain entities, such as corporations, partnerships, and trusts, created or organized in the United States.

Understanding one's status as a US person is crucial for complying with US tax obligations.
